Incubation of DNA containing plasma with the PCRopsis Blood for 1 or 5 minutes allows for the detection of GAPDH to a degree comparable to QIAamp® DNA Blood Kit. PBS + genomic DNA was used as a positive control.

Real-time PCR studies demonstrate that pre-incubation of plasma spiked with genomic DNA with the PCRopsis Blood, for just 1 or 5 minutes, results in the detection of a GAPDH fragment to a degree roughly comparable to isolated DNA using Qiagen's QIAamp® DNA Blood Kit. Real-time PCR utilized 1 uL of sample and a GAPDH specific TaqMan probe for detection of the GAPDH amplified fragment.
