​Lysing fungal cells from toe nail samples with PCRopsis Cell Lysis Buffer + heating followed by processing with PCRopsis Cell for just 10 minutes allows for the detection of fungi that's undetectable when DNA is isolated using Qiagen's QIAamp® DNA Kit.  No amplification was observed when degenerate fungal primers were used with bacterial lysates, demonstrating these primers specifically amplify fungal DNA.
